Grunt,
I concur with Larc on your excellent reasoning.
Please share these type of thoughts any time when these issues come up. I am still a babe as to reasoning things out. Difficult to get the WT's thoughts out of my head as absolute fact. But I do try to be open minded, and these type of discussions really help me. I have had conversations in the past while still a Witness with one's who did have a knowlege of Greek, but I wasn't open minded enough to listen back then. Woe is me. Wish I had.
When I first met my husband, I told him the NWT was the most accurate. I have had a rude awakening.
BTW, what year were the Pyramids mentioned in the WT? I brought this up to my father about three years ago (he is still an active Witness). And got a stone wall of silence. It has never been brought up between us or discussed since. I for one feel that what the founding fathers of any religion taught and believed is of paramount importance to making a decision about whether or not a religion is correct. Apparently he does not.

NWT
by amicus inwhen reading the new world translation i used to sometimes think, who translated this gobbledygook?..
i just read another passage where the nwt manages to slaughter the english language.. acts 21:30 .
nwt ...., and a running together of the people occurred:.... kjv ..., and the people ran together:.... niv ..., and the people came running from all directions.. this is an excerpt from the foreword of the nwt; it is a very responsible thing to translate the holy scriptures........into modern speech.

Seven,
Takes some time to ponder this. Did you write it? It definitely reminds me of my "past" life. You know where. But it seems we can buy our soul back slowly.

Should Christians drink cappucino?
by ozziepost inshould a true christian drink a cappucino?.
perhaps you have never considered the matter, but what are the origins of this popular beverage?.
the name cappucino is derived from the word to describe the bones of 4,000 capuchin friars in rome, italy.

Frenchy and Java,
Please, please, come over to our house and bring your weapons. We want to do an all out comparison of the mayvens of coffee-land! We will be the testers.
TW
P.S. Java I have drank cold coffee, but not right out of the pot yet. It saves time on waiting for it to cool down. -

Ozzie,
That was truly hilarious. But on a serious note, it does point out the faulty reasoning (or no reasoning) on the WT's part.

Gloria,
A belated welcome. Really hope you stick around. I am thinkers wife, obviously.
Really do look at things with an open mind. This can be difficult. I do feel it is important to examine what we believe. Regardless of whether or not we think it is the truth. "Keep proving to yourself".

Mommy,
Chick flicks are optional, these are only for the ladies who so choose. So if LDH or any others want to play ball it is their choice.
Mommy and I can be in charge of taking a poll to find out what hot chick flicks to show.
Amicus,
Shame on you, and you knowing I am a married woman. I will only be in chick flicks with Thinker. He is really into the baptizing thing. We have a baptism every night!!!
